Billericay Tennis Club and Financial Planning Advisors agree Sponsorship Arrangement
Billericay Lawn Tennis Club is delighted to announce that The Sound Financial Group
has agreed a three-year sponsorship deal with them. Club Chairman Les Cambridge is
seen receiving the sponsorship cheque from Sound Financial Group directors, Paul
Spires and Andrew Hall. Tennis club Treasurer Richard Lehman commented that the funds
will be used to help the club support the development and ongoing coaching activities
with local Schools.
The Sound Financial Group is a local firm of independent fee-based Financial Planners
and Advisers who have been advising local people on their financial affairs for the
past ten years. Paul Spires said this is a first venture into local sponsorship for
this company and one that we hope will benefit the club and its members over the
coming years. For more information on who they are and what they do, please visit
their website www.soundfp.co.uk.
New decking beside the clubhouse
The new decking was officially opened by Dennis Gould and Andrew Gardiner. The decking was designed by Andrew and built entirely by club members. Our thanks go to the volunteers who gave up their time to demonstrate their carpentry and general building skills. The new decking has proved to be a huge success and has added to the club’s already superb facilities.
Barn Dance a huge success
On a warm evening in June the club held a barn dance attended by just over a 100 people. Court 7 was transformed into a dance area lit up by coloured lights and decorated with bales of hay with a live band playing country and western music. With the caller making sure everyone danced in the right direction a very enjoyable evening was had by all. Barbecue food was expertly cooked by Chris Judge with salad and desserts provided by Isabel Holmes. A big thank you to the club volunteers who helped set up the decking, the dance area and the marquees. A prize was awarded to the best dressed cowboy and cowgirl and the winners were Gavin Smart and Jo Williams.
