New head coach appointed

Club Chairman Les Cambridge said Billericay LTC is pleased to announce that Colin Clay will take over the post of Head Coach in March 2008. Les said that the club was deeply indebted to the work Graham Lister, who is standing down as Head Coach, had done over the last ten years. During his tenure, Grahame has grown our Junior section with about 100 children overseen by one part-time coach, to the current strength of over 300 children employing three retained full-time and two part-time coaches. BLTC now offers a fully comprehensive tennis coaching programme starting with mini tennis for four-year olds through to performance coaching for talented teenagers. Les said that he was pleased that Grahame would continue to coach at the Club. Les added that the Club was delighted when they were able to reach agreement with Colin to take over from Grahame. Colin has most recently been working for LTA as Tennis Development Manager in Essex, and is well known to Club members and Juniors. Les said that Colin will bring new expertise to the Club and is confident that we have found the "right man" to take over running our Coaching Programme to be able to grow it to its full potential.
